I'm going to miss this face...

I'm heading overseas for 10 days on Wednesday. I'm going with my aunt and her son's school group. I'm excited, but also REALLY worried about how much I'm going to miss my Roo.

So here's my question dear blogosphere...Should I take my laptop - my really expensive, hard to replace MacBook, so that I can Skype with my little girl?

My concerns:
- trying to lug my computer around
- worrying about breaking or losing it
- the 7 hour time difference will make it hard to skype with Roo and Mikey anyhow

But man, I would love to get to see my Roo...

Thoughts?

A Little More Info:  (in response to comments)
I'm going to Europe with a school trip.  My aunt wanted to go with my cousin's group, but didn't want to go "alone" and offered to take me.  I'm such a lucky girl.  :) We are going to London, Rome and Madrid, basically spending 3 days in each place.

I should have time in my room to use the computer, but with the time difference I'm wondering if that will mean I'm up at 2am to skype with my hubs at 7 here.

So I thought it was Thursday...

So I thought it was Thursday and I was sitting here thinking about which picture to use in Photostory Friday. Then when I went to the blog to link up, I realized - It's Tuesday. Guess it's going to be a long week?

Also, I posted the pictures on facebook from the post a couple days ago. Today I got message from one of my "friends" saying that i should not post professional pictures and represent them as my own.

Uh...I guess I will just take that as a compliment?

And maybe offer to take "professional pics" of her kids too?  For a small fee of course. ;)

I haven't responded to the message yet.

Edited To Add:  I know that they are not professional quality - lots of things could be improved.  I would probably pay someone for them, but hey, I think any pic of my little Roo is a wonderful one.

My hope for these two...

This is a picture of my nephew B and Roo giving each other a big ol hug. They are buds, chums, comrades. They have so much fun together. I hope they keep having that much fun together.

I was lucky enough to have a cousin just a couple of months younger than me too. I went all through school with him. He was like my brother and we were buds, chums, comrades.

We are not so close now. We see each other at family events, but that is all. I'm not sure what separated us. Our lives are different and so are our priorities. I am a lot different from his wife, who is just...hmm...just different than me. As much as I try to like her, I don't know that I will ever be a person she will enjoy being around.

So my hope is that I have a picture of these two hugging when they are 30. Just as friendly and close as they are today.

Some Pictures and I'm almost done!

Only 3 and a 1/4ish days of school left.  It is always a race to the finish.  I have been busy with finishing everything up, graduation and spending lots of time outside with Roo.  We don't have a lot of nice days in Nebraska, so you have to enjoy them when you have them.

Here are some pictures I took of Roo this weekend at my cousins graduation.

Our first Camping Trip

We took our first camping trip of the year this past weekend. Mikey turned the big 3-0 and I had a conference to go to so we headed out Thursday night. Mikey enjoyed Friday with Roo shopping and I went to my conference. Then we spent the weekend in our camper. It was perfect weather and we had a lot of fun. My parents camped with us and my sister and her family came out Saturday night.

Some pictures:
I got Mikey a backpack carrier for Roo for his birthday.  He really wants to "hike" this summer when we go camping.  Roo loved it and even fell asleep in it.

My sister's fam all went paddle boating, except B, her little guy.  He hung out on the deck with Roo and Grandpa and watched.  Roo and B have so much fun together.  It's cute.

Mikey had a lot of fun and showed he is too old to swing.

Roo had a lot of fun too, although she came down with an eye infection (which is why I'm at home blogging on a Monday when I should be at work).

We can't wait to go camping again, although it will be a couple of weekends b/c of graduations that we have to go to.

Hope you all get to enjoy some nice weather too!
